Outside
The property is set in 7½ acres of grounds and private woodland that backs on to vineyards. Families of deer have been known to take a walk in the back garden! The grounds are mainly grass and woodland and the property is private and gated. The Swimming Pool is alarmed for your children's safety and your peace of mind. There is a children's play area and a barbeque for you to enjoy.

A family bathroom is available on the ground floor which has sink, bath with shower attachment and a WC.

Les Grandes Vignes is situated in the quiet and peaceful countryside near Montpon-Ménestérol in the Dordogne. A few minutes away in Soubie there is a very popular boulangerie and tea shop. The town of Montpon-Ménestérol is only a 6 min drive away where you will find supermarkets, restaurants and banks. There is a swimming lake, horse riding, canoeing and fishing, all can be reached within 10 mins.

Lac de Gurson is a wonderful enclosed lake with sandy beaches, beach front bars & restaurants, a huge water chute, and a children's play area. The lake provides safe swimming and is perfect for children of all ages.

Castillon-La-Bataille

Castillon-La-Bataille (19 mins)

This historic town on the Dordogne is well worth a visit. Castillon La Bataille is famous for the hundred-year war which ended in 1453 when the French finally defeated the British. Every summer the people of Castillon La Bataille conduct a fantastic spectacular to commemorate the historic victory.

Saint Emilion is famous for it's red wine. There are free tours and guided tours of the vineyards. The town of Saint Emilion is fantastic and waiting to be explored.

Les Eyzies (90 mins)

Les Eyzies is one of the most frequently visited villages in France. This is the first site where Cro Magnon (ancestor of Homo Sapiens) was discovered. Many journey on the river, either by canoe or kayak start here.

Hautefort

Hautefort (90 mins)

To the north of the Périgord blanc, on the border of the Périgord noir and perched high on a rock is the castle Hautefort. This castle was once a medieval fortress and probably built on an original Roman encampment. One of the most prestigious chateaux in the south west of France, and classified as a historical monument, it is surrounded by a park and gardens of exceptional beauty designed à l'Anglaise.

Rocamadour

Rocamadour (130 mins)

Just over the border in the Correze is one of the most gravity defying cliff clinging villages in this part of France. Many of the village buildings are built on the face of a vertical cliff. Rocamadour has a massive fort at the foot of the cliff, which once housed visiting pilgrims. There are wonderful views of the valley and the rooftops of Roacamadour from the summit of the cliff. (You can either climb the steps or take the lift).

La Roque Gageac

La Roque Gageac (130 mins)

La Roque Gageac is a beautiful riverside village, where the solid houses cling to the vertical bank of the valley of the river, with access up staircase streets.

Les Grandes Vignes can be accessed from the Trans European Motorway, La Transeuropéenne (A89 or E70), and is approximately 20km from either exit 11 (west) or exit 12 (east).

By Train

Motorail (carries cars, motorbikes, 4x4s & people carriers) available during summer months from Calais to Brive-la-Gaillarde, the latter being 143km, 1hr 30mins from the property.

By Ferry

Confirmation & Deposit

After making a booking request you will receive an e-mail confirming it has been sent. This is later followed by an e-mail from us confirming your reservation, and containing a breakdown of the total costs, and the dates by which the deposit (£250) and final payments are due.
